Commercial window cleaning methods
Dependant upon your requirements for cleaning your commercial property, there are many cleaning methods that can be used to ensure your property is cleaned to the highest standard.
Whether using cradles, mobile platforms or water-fed poles from ground level, the need to ensure that high-level windows are clean is not to be ignored. Using ‘ladder-less’ water-fed pole systems, cleaners can reach impressive heights without leaving the safety of the ground, and with no compromise on standards of work or health and safety.
Additionally, you will need a window cleaner who can guarantee a reliable, professional service. Unsightly and dirty windows can be greatly detrimental to the appearance of your property, so it is important that your chosen cleaner can offer a regular and reliable service to ensure that your property always looks its best. Of course, it is also important that the end result looks the part.

Health and safety when cleaning from height
All of our window cleaning is properly planned and carried out by competent people who are fully trained to do so. Where reasonably possible, we always try to avoid working at height eg. by cleaning from inside or by using telescopic water fed poles. Alternatively, we look for opportunities to clean from areas where it is already safe to do, so such as a balcony. If it is essential to work from height outside a building, then the most suitable access equipment is implemented along with suitable arrest equipment where there is a risk of falling.
Cradles and mobile platforms
The type of equipment we use is based on many factors including the height and accessibility of the windows, the surface around the building, the extent and duration of the job, the frequency and finally any environmental factors.
When ladders are too dangerous or it is not possible to use water-fed poles, Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWP’s) are used. An MEWP is a mechanical lifting system which is controlled by an operator and can be used for working up to 60 metres at height. The types of systems employed range from scissor lifts, vehicle mounted platforms to self-propelled booms and trailer systems. Before any window cleaning has started, a risk assessment is always carried out and all our operators are IPAF trained with the necessary insurance.
For high rise buildings, cranes are often used so operators can navigate the building with ease and rope access techniques are also used where certain areas are difficult to access.
Ladder-less water fed pole systems
Ladder-less water fed pole systems have revolutionised pure water cleaning technology in recent years: its more efficient, more effective and provides a safer delivery of service in less time. Using heated, purified water it is now the standard method of cleaning windows on low rise buildings and has nearly rendered ladders completely obsolete.
The soft bristle brush removes dirt particles and smears on the glass whilst the pure water can be left to dry naturally without leaving water stains. By using 100% pure laboratory-graded water, which is then pumped through telescopic poles, we are able to access and clean windows to heights in excess of 22 metres. This technique also means windows stay clean for longer, as there is no soap residue to mix with rain and create stains later. Providing excellent results, it is also the safest and most cost-effective window cleaning method with brilliant results.
